Veterans Research Engagement Council

Veterans Engagement.

Mission

Our mission is to engage Veteran stakeholders in multiple facets of CfNN research intended to explore new science and develop new treatments to improve Veterans’ health by:
  • Providing feedback on current and planned CfNN research programs
  • Reviewing and providing suggestions on research procedures and materials (including recruitment)
  • Recommending ways of disseminating research findings to stakeholders
  • Identifying additional areas of need for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology research.

Evidence VREC Works

  • Draws upon the strengths, resources, and diversity of individual patients and communities affected by a health issue.
  • Community needs are given equal weight against the priorities of researchers, clinical and academic partners, healthcare organizations, and funders.
  • The expertise and knowledge of patients and community members is honored.
  • Throughout the research there is an emphasis on openness, and building and maintaining trust between partners.
