The CfNN Recording, Decoding, and Computational Neuroscience Core supports projects across all Focus Areas toward discovery and deepened understanding of how device-based neurotherapies act on brain circuits and networks and advance device-based therapies for Veterans suffering from a wide variety of brain disorders.
It provides neuroscience, engineering, and computational modeling expertise to CfNN Investigators through access to University-Affiliate resources, including
- Novel multi-scale computational modeling to interpret brain signals in humans and animal models ( )
- Using novel dimensionality reduction tools to map movement related activity
- Computational neuroscience methods to reveal mechanisms of action of both invasive and noninvasive brain stimulation therapies, and to make predictions of how stimulation methods can be refined to more effectively modulate relevant brain networks
- Developing Intelligent spinal cord interfaces to monitor and restore function after spinal cord injury
- Developing adaptive neuromodulation treatments and multimodal monitoring for obsessive compulsive disorder
